Research threads
How the work fits together
My 22 publications are not a random collection. They fall into four connected threads, each building on the others over two decades.
Technology & Digital Infrastructure
Starting with the 2005 landmark paper on ICT in Nigerian university libraries (95 citations), this thread follows the evolution from ICT basics through computer self-efficacy, electronic resources, EBSCOhost and Koha adoption, to AI and IoT integration in 2026. The longest continuous thread in the body of work.
Indigenous Knowledge & Community Information
A cluster of work from 2013 to 2015 examining how alternative healthcare practitioners document and use indigenous knowledge, and how health information needs are served in underserved communities. This thread connects LIS research to public health and cultural heritage in the Nigerian context.
Information Literacy & User Behaviour
Research on how students, researchers, and communities find, evaluate, and use information — from academic library users to health information seeking during COVID-19. Includes the 2023 paper on integrating data literacy into information literacy programmes, and the 2024 work on AI literacy frameworks.
AI, Scholarship & the Future of Libraries
Research on how students, researchers, and communities find, evaluate, and use information — from academic library users to health information seeking during COVID-19. Includes the 2023 paper on integrating data literacy into information literacy programmes, and the 2024 work on AI literacy frameworks.

Editor / Journal
BIBLIOTHECA: The journal
Founder and Editor-in-Chief of BIBLIOTHECA: International Journal of Library and Information Science — a peer-reviewed academic journal established at LAUTECH to provide a platform for LIS research with a focus on African and developing-world contexts.
A space for LIS researchers — especially those in African institutions — to publish rigorous, relevant work without having to look abroad for legitimacy. Building the platform is part of building the field.
